HAPPY BIRTHDAY

YESTERDAY was my birthday. According to my husband my birthday is a 1 week of a celebration. he is just making a joke and is very funny.

We did not do anything special yesterday. We didn't even cook. we just ate leftover food that I made 2 days ago. But prior to my birthday we went and eat dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I think Mexican food is one of my favorite foods in the world. IDK how they make their food so tasty and so yummy full of flavor.  I tried recreating it at home and to no success I would say.

My husband bought me flowers and cards and is the sweetest human being ever. He told me to just buy a gift of my choice, but I decided I did not want any. Husband and I don't have that lavish gift relationship. I feel like his money is mine and I don't have any money and he never complain. hahaha! But seriously if I want something, I will just buy it even if it is not my birthday. I was thinking of buying an apple watch but geeezz that will be my fourth one, so I will hold off to that. I am just going to buy before we leave to the Philippines. My friend JOY gave me a bible and I am so happy and grateful. I wanted a bible that I can understand and the one she gave me is perfect. I am in fact started reading them last night.

Also I ate my regular nooodles and blow the candle of the cake we bought from the store. Over all I had a great and happy birthday indeed. nothing grand, just to be with my husband my dog and some greetings from family and friends is more than enough for me. I Loved it!

STARTING OVER.....

Since I want to be consistent in posting blogs, I want to start over and fill you in.

Last June of 2023 we bought a piece of property in a little island in the Philippines. I asked my brother to look and see the land and came to find out it was a beautiful piece of land away from the hustle and busy city lights in Cebu. The husband and I agreed to just pay the land off and then check it out the following year. September 2024 came and we packed our bags including our dog Millie and bought a ticket to the Philippines. Bringing your animal to the Philippines, is a little tricky situation. We had to prepare 3 months in advance to get her papers straight. The husband decided that it was better for me to fly first because just in case if the dog cannot fly then we have somebody to bring her back home and can straighten her documents. God has blessed us and we were able to fly with no hassle.

The husband followed two weeks later. But while waiting for my husband I decided to enjoy time with my family. The one that can only spend time with me. Life gets busy with most of them, so I reached out to the ones who are available. I don't want them to skip work just because I am there. you know they have to live too. Anyhoo, my little niece who is married came with me and travel bit. I can't believe that she is a mother now. She used to be my little baby niece. Ahhhhh... I am getting older and that is a blessing.

So that was the beginning of my journey in our little island. we are hoping to go back in August. Hoping? yeah, we are uncertain just yet. That's another story to tell why so?

I am so happy I am able to write back again. I missed updating my diary.

I am BACK!!!!!

OH! hi Diary,

It has been a while again.  I am not so consistent in posting but I think I need to try harder this time. I am getting older by the day. I started this blog 2007. I wish I did not delete some of my stories back then. I wish I just put them in private settings. but what can I do? Anyho, I've been so lucky to be able to log back into my account. I thought I completely lost everything.

What I have been up lately.? I've been reading a lot of books. Reading is somewhat therapeutic for me. I didn't know I'd be able to read a book or two in a week. That's mostly where I've been spending my time recently. I mostly lost in the moment when reading. the husband always wakeup late so instead of scrolling through my phone, I just grad my book and start reading. The books I've been into are mostly Teeny boppers love stories. I am into romantic books and loving it. Sometimes though, i think I am a little childish for reading such stories. but truly I get lost in the moment and  felt as if I am watching them from afar. I don't like gossiping ever since I was a young girl. One time my mom told me stories about my neighbor, she was my classmate in grade school. and I just rush it off. Our parents use to compare us girls, but we are really good friends. So we just laugh about it. Like I said reading is the closest for me to watch other peoples lives.

Other than reading I have some more exciting news about my online job. I would say I am getting better at it, and I claim it this time around, I will be making something.. not just a dream but in reality. I'll keep my mum about it. but there will be signs in the future post.

Dear Diary....

Today August 12, 2025. We pour concrete in our yard. we hire a contractor and we just pay all the materials including buying the concrete to save some money. The boys are working very hard to finish the job. Super appreciate for the hard working people in this country.

In America everything is so expensive. you have to work twice as hard to be able to afford such big of a project. We have been saving our money for so long and now everything is taking into place. All the sacrifices is worth it.

Finally it will be finish very soon. Thanks God!

ROAD TRIP 2025 (FOUR CORNERS) National Park

Our next stop on this Trip is Four Cornes National Park. It's a place where the four corners of the State Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado meet. It was like around 6  hours drive from Albuquerque. We pass some beautiful sights. a mix of desert and small towns. Some roads are tough and no signal. but it was quiet easy to navigate.

There was a small entrance fee when you enter the national park. I think it was around $8 per person. The park is so small that we only stayed for few minutes. less than an hour. We took pictures. there lines to take photos. There were booths around where you can buy souvenir stuff. The toilets is kinda ahhhh dirty, but there is a store like 2 miles from the park that you can access there clean toilet.

It was a good experience but over all it is not something I wanted to go back. just a one time visit is enough.

Good morning!

Hello. We are Sitting in our dining area watching the rain. Husband is drinking coffee. Me in the other hand is in front of my laptop talking to you all. It's a quiet, easy morning for us. I love this kind of weather. Where everything is so peaceful around here.

The older I get, the more I realize that money is not everything. Peace of mind is one of the best gifts above all. I am so grateful of the husband for giving me this kind of lifestyle. That I don't have to juggle work and house stuff on a daily basis. That I am able to take a nap whenever I want to and don't have to get up and make supper because I need to. we could just go out and drive to the nearest restaurant in our area. We are not rich by no means. We are just average people that knows how to handle our finances.

I used to wonder how people make it. When I see post on social media of all the material things they accumulated.  I wonder how they make their way out being a credit card slave. Anyhow, my brain wonders all over places.

Bye for now. I want to spend time with my husband. much love to you all!

Road Trip 2025 (New Mexico, Arizona,Utah. Nevada)

NEW MEXICO.

For my 43rd birthday celebration, husband and I decided to travel across the United States. I have been in the USA for close to 12 years now. I have traveled some states and the farthest is Colorado, but I always wanted to check out the beauty of Arizona and Utah. We live in Louisiana and going to those 2 states we have to pass by Texas and New Mexico. We did not really explore Texas since it is our neighboring state. And any time we can just go and travel to touristy places for a day of drive.

First Stop NM.

This state is beautiful. It surprises me in the best way possible. The food? OMG! the best. First Agenda we went to Albuquerque. This city is so big. I am used to Shreveport Louisiana, a city that is 20 miles from our house. it's quite large but not compared to Albuquerque. We arrived around 3 pm and I thought it's like a small city in the beginning.

We checked out the Tram in Sandia Park. Since it was my birthday, we wanted to eat dinner at their restaurant, but too bad it was closed. I think they open certain days of the week only. But we enjoyed the view every single angle of it. We rode a Tram Reaching the 10,378-foot crest of the Sandia Mountains, an 11,000 square mile panoramic view. It’s an elevation of the body, mind, and soul. A mere 15 minutes ride.

On the way to the top, we have this knowledgeable young man who gives us a few facts about the place. He told us the history of how they built the Tram and why they build it. It was a very fun experience. Here's a few snaps.

It was one of the Best Birthdays for me. A memorable one for sure! I was a little sad because I did not eat my noodles. On Husband and I's Birthdays it's always a tradition of ours to eat noodles. Filipino/Chinese say's it adds numbers to your life. So, we always did since we got married. but because we are traveling, I am not able to cook noodles/pancit. But wait. Husband surprised me with a cup noodles. I was so happy. The small gesture means so much to me. So yes! even far from home. I still enjoyed my birthday noodles in a cup this time and I love him so much more for that.

I have a Secret

I have something to share. I have been contemplating it for a complete long time If I am going to share this or not. The only reason for sharing this time around is because I normally read my blog when I am down, and it truly brings back my spark once I read my past experiences. It humbles me. So today I will start by saying at the age of 42 almost 43, I am really having a hard time finding friends. I really want a friend and for some times now I have not found one that truly I can say be my best friend. My husband is my automatic best friend wether he likes it or not. insert a smiley emoji.

I feel really sad. I have friends around but the problem is I cannot open up with them with my real emotions. I am so terrified. I feel like I am the toxic friend. I struggle to open my heart to anyone. so so sad. I listen to everyone's problem. I gave advice. But deep inside me I wanted to share my real real deep emotions to a friend. But I cannot trust anyone. I am afraid that if I open too much they will judge me. Or if I get so close to them they distance themselves. I am scared. that is why I said I am the toxic friend perhaps because I cannot be totally myself.

I want a friend to hang around. to just drink coffee without me paying the whole bill. I am not complaining, I feel like people expect me to pick up the bill every time (Philippines). I want a friend that also can afford to buy their own coffee. is that too much to ask?  I just want to hang around with somebody, not them hang around with me because they can benefit from our friendship. I know friendship is give and take. I don't want somebody to just take and take. I am so done with that kind of friend. That is why I said I don't have friend and it is very hard to find a friend. In the US everyone is busy, and I totally get it. I want a friend in the Philippines. I hope I can find one.

Life is a gift

I have been practicing being grateful lately. Every day as soon as my feet hit the floor, I give thanks to heavens for giving me another day. I am a believer in tomorrow is not promised and today is a gift in itself. It is hard to maintain in this mindset. but when you think of all the people that is struggling to even get out of bed, it made you realized how blessed you are.  I have been loving the weather. Although it is almost storm season, but while it is still very pretty outside, I am going to enjoy every second of it.

We met husband old coworkers yesterday. One of which came with us when we visit the Philippines last year. He is a widow, and he found him a girlfriend in island. They just cut off and having a good catch up while eating Mexican food. Also, can't help it but talk about politics. My Opinion? I love what is happening in America right now. I believe the country is heading to the right direction.

We went shopping after lunch. Bought few things that is needed in the house. Also, I bought a pair of jeans. I know I have plenty, but I want something comfy when I am working the yard.

Today 3-06-25 our plan is to buy lumber. We haven't finish our back porch and it's about time. There was a guy that came to the house yesterday and ask us if we want to put asphalt in our driveway for $2000. It sounds like a good deal so me and my husband will finish the porch project so we can put asphalt and not worry about being muddy no more.

have to leave now so i will cont. tomorrow.

see yah!

Trade in or NOT?

Today is such a great day. So husband and I decided to go to town today. The weather is pretty nice this morning and so we decided to just get-out of the house . We have a few items in our to-do and grocery list. one of which is his truck filter. The filter and maintenance on his truck is quite pricy and it is so aggravating each time. So while in town we decided to check on Truck dealership just to shop around new vehicle. Husband has 2018 RAM 2500 diesel and the Trade in for his truck is a lot. The ones we inquire, is a 2023 model Dodge 1500. He wanted a truck where he can change oil and change filter by himself. On our truck right now, he has to go to a shop to have it changed oil and changed filters. and it is so expensive. We have to pay at least $700 every time The sales person told us we can trade his old truck with that 2023 RAM no out of pocket. We just switch keys and we are good to go. We were a bit stunned. We walked out the door with our old truck but having a thought in mind that we may consider trading it in.

They are Both a Mother to ME....

Hey, I did not sleep good last night. Something has been bothering my peace in the middle of my slumber. I woke up around 2 in the morning, thinking about things that is out of my control. It all started when I stumble this TikTok account of a young lady who is a cancer patient. I was watching all her video and then at some point I realized she already pass away. I don't know I cannot stop watching her. I feel so sad and connected to her even I haven't heard about her name before.

Why is cancer so prevalent in the United States? I know not one but Two person closest to my heart died of Cancer. One being is my mother n Law and the other one is Mum Jenene. For most of my old blogger friends, I am pretty sure you know who she was. She was my Ex's mom, and I was so close to her. In fact, she flew to Manila Philippines just to see me. She was there for me not only in my ups but also in my lowest low of my life. I remember few years back when she learns that I live in the US, we used to talk on the phone a lot. I just decided to cut our communication off out of respect to my husband. And one day a police officer shows up to the house to do a welfare check on me. HEHE! I was terrified in the beginning. they told me that mom Jenene checked on me and to call her to keep her worries away. I explained to her that I am married now, and I don't my relationship with my husband to get sour. She was very understanding about.

When they learn she had cancer they let me know through Facebook messages. I felt so sick in my stomach when I learned she pass away. Even in my low moments when I have nobody to share my troubles, I always call her not for advice because I am very hardheaded, but just to talk too. She was always there to listen and sometimes judged me. LOL! I love that woman. Three days before she died, we talk on the phone for a few minutes. I knew then that she was weak. I can hear it in her voice, I was so sad of her passing 3 days later. I just wish I visited her in her last few days. thinking about it makes me so sad.

I know both of them are in no pain now. and with Jesus in Heaven. I wish there are new medicine that kills cancer cells easy. Hoping and Praying so hard that it will happen one day.

Fishing Story

I woke up 10 A.M this morning. you may ask why so late? Our normal bedtime is 2 A.M so obviously I have to stay in bed longer than usual. I used to be a morning person, which I still am. I like waking up when everyone is sleeping. I enjoyed my alone time in the morning. Just me and a cup of coffee.

This morning, I started reading this book husband's daughter lend me. The book is called "All Good People Here. very interesting. I will update the verdict of the story once I finish the book. I have been in my reading rote lately.

While James is watching his show on YouTube , I am in the bed reading my stuff. That is why I sleep real late too. It really is so nice that James is already retired. I have a company of a human being 24/7. I don't mind it at all. I am so excited for spring. I look forward to go fishing. I could fish all day. ha. ha. I enjoyed catching it but not cleaning. I tell you a funny story.

When we went to the Philippines 2016, James and my brothers went fishing. He catch a bunch of small fish like itty bitty shiners (bolinao) HE throw it back in the water. My brothers were wondering why he throw it back there. So my brother caught one he showed it to my husband and told him they will keep that size. he was laughing he thought it was a joke. LOL! He didn't know that we keep small fishy in the PI to eat for dinner. They had a good time fishing.

When they came home, my sister got the fish and clean it . He was amazed and told them, in the US. when I go fishing, I also clean my fish.but here the women clean the fish which makes sense if you both eat it for supper together. He told me then and there that he knows now who cleans the fish. LOL! Since then, Both of us clean the fish. I still don't clean the fish alone. I'm not going to lie, I do sometimes. I hate to just waste it you know. After spending all day in the lake it don't make any bit of sense to just ruin the fish, so I clean it. But not happy when I do it alone

That's all for now. Since it's Sunday we probably go visit the family. I may be rude but because we spent all day there, sometimes I just go take a nap in the couch. They can talk all day long and I am just not made for that, so the couch is my rescue. what can I do?

Bye for now ... This post don't makes sense in the moment, but I like reading it in the future.

See yah later.

Love,

Honey

Happy Valentines Day!

How's your valentines everyone? James and I don't really put so much effort on valentine. We have the usual card and flowers and chocolates but other than that we just go on with our lives. I know one of y'all make it a big celebration, that's fine too. I am Happy for you. I guess we are married long enough that valentines is just another normal day for us. We eat out a lot of times a week so eating on special occasions are no big deal anymore. Am I insane for not making it a big deal? well, James is and has always been thoughtful and never fails to buy me those valentines essentials. LOL

Anyhow, I have such a great day today, . Every day is valentines in our house. And I am Thankful for that.

That's all for now. Hope y'all have a happy Valentines! I love you....

Always,

I am just Rambling

I don't know what got into me. All of a sudden, I feel like blogging again. I wish it's a lot easier to post photos here, but it really is not. I am not using a digital camera anymore, who does? If one of  y'all still does, well congrats. :) You still have a better-quality photo.

In all honesty, I started out bringing my camera with me this year. It was nice while it lasted. So bulky though. that is why It did not last long.

have you heard about a TikTok being banned? that one did not last too. I was in Tiktok rabbit hole . I hear myself laughing so hard right now. I was so addicted on that app and not gonna lie it consumed most of my nights. I went to bed like very late at night. I think I burn my eyeballs and my credit card. I had order so many product, most of them are useless to say the least. Glad I got over it now. lol

In the beginning of my husband being retired, we had to adjust a little. I stay at home all the time and love spending alone. But since I cannot do that anymore, I was a little grouchy Bitch sometimes. I think I need a little bump on my forehead. Don't get me wrong. We enjoyed most days, like 99% of the time. But the 1%? Don't even get me started about it. hahaha.. It's fine now. We adjusted so well . but I said on last post I am so grumpy. It is true and that was after our Philippines visit. I miss the life in the Philippines I guess.

Anyhow. this week has been very cold in this side of the planet. last week the weather felt like spring , this week is the opposite. You have to wear jacket, if ever you wanna go outside. or else you will freeze yourself to death. We are in Louisiana you know and not use to this cold weather. But I enjoy it. not complaining. In fact, loving it.

alright. that is all I can think of for now. . . I may come back here tomorrow night. Time stamp right now is 10:22 PM.

see y'all later. I enjoyed having you here. listening to my rambling.

Love,

Honey

Oh Hey!!!!

Hi y'all. It has been soo long. What's new? hahha....

It's 2025 already. So many things happened in my life. James retired from his job last year. and also last year we visited the Philippines. We spend 2 months, and it was one of the best vacations we had. But I cannot just go on with my post if I will not acknowledge the passing of my dog.

April 06,2023 my dog Lilly passed away. I had so many good memories with my little Doberman. Husband gifted me a dog on my first Christmas here in the US. and it was my Lilly. She literally saved my life. I remember I just got here in the USA that time, when somebody was trying to break into our home. I was terrified to say the least. My dog Lilly was so aggressive that the burglar decided to just go away. Of course, I called my husband, and he came to my rescue.  We called 911 and they caught the guy. I am so glad I have a dog. fast forward to the day of her passing. It was the saddest day in our household. Husband and I took her to the Vet and there, they put her to sleep. :( we cried so hard because she is not just a dog to us. She was our baby. We lost a part of us on that day. But like anything else. Life has to go on. I will carry her in my heart and /memories for as long as I live.

Today we have a new Doberman in the house. She will be 4 years old in June 2025. We got her when she was just 3 months old. She is not Lilly for sure. Her name is Mellie, but we call her "Pop". she is different but she has her own personality. We love her and she is perfect addition to our family.

I told you we spent 2 months in the Philippines. right? We actually build a tiny house there. We bought a piece of property last 2023 and when we visit last year, we build a fence and a small house. This year we will fly again in September. Also, we brought Pop there. she did not like it a lot, but she learns to tolerate it. hehehe!

For some reason I feel like I am grumpier. I don't have any answer for now, but it seemed like I flip so easily. a little something throws me off so quickly. I don't want to feel this way. I feel so sorry for my husband because I am such a bitch. I can't help it though, so I know there is a problem somewhere.

Anyways, I hope I'll get to upload this site as much as I can. I will try ...

so Bye for now. See yah again later. It might be next month or next year. who knows :)

Love,

Honey

BLESSED 40!

Wow! I am that old?... Time sure just went out of the window so quickly. But looking back in the past 20 years of my life (let's just start after my 20th birthday). Really it was not so bad. I consider myself blessed in all aspect.

Driving back memory lane for a bit.
I have a confession to make. When I was 20 years old I was so pressured by my peers not their fault, it was my own fault pressuring myself to find someone I want to marry. haha! Back then every time I am in a relationship with someone. In my head I want him to be the one. LOL! I know the rule you don't wanna be in a relationship if that meant you don't look forward for the future. But even if there are so many red flags. I just completely ignored them. WHY? you know, he is the one. hahaha! I guess all young women went the same experience, unless you are gifted. :)

At 24 I was Engaged! I thought for sure he was the one for me. But life takes me to different a direction. And fast forward to when I was 30. I had no expectations. I learnt to live alone and love being alone at times, that's when I met the one for me. My husband. :) YES! I met my husband exactly on my 30'th birthday. I celebrated my birthday with friends in my little apartment. and when everyone was tired and tipsy and sleepy, I on the other hand is wide awake. While the rest of the group are in deep slumber I decided to log in to a dating website. and that's how I met my husband :)

30-40!

It just went by quickly! I guess me and James are having such a good time working together and planning for the future, that's why time just went by fast. I mostly stay at home since I am now a home maker. Typical old school marriage. He is in charge of bringing the bacon and I prepare them to make sumptuous meals. Husband work so hard for our future and I appreciate it every day. I became more conservative financially. I learned the value of hard earned money and balance our spendings. I mostly look forward for when he gets home from work so we can drink coffee together and sometimes work in our yard or just peddle in the shop. We achieved so many things together and we become such a good partner. Within 9 years of our marriage we only had a couple arguments. We don't agree each others decision at times but we manage to simplify it and see whose idea is better and why. then we make decisions together. LIFE IS GREAT!

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD!

I simply live on a daily basis. I enjoy every single day of my life and learn to love the good days and bad days. My Greatest learning as I grow older is that life is no permanent. It will just pass by in front of you and eventually we will go 6 feet under. all of us. no one is excluded. So why not live life in the best way possible! Maximize it!. Forgive those who hurt you. Enjoy what's in front of you. Face your problems and know it will just pass. nothing is forever anyways. Cry if you need too, that's how I let go of my negative emotions at times. AND never forget to LOVE THE ONES WHO IS THERE FOR YOU. Those one's that always see your sparkles even on a cloudy nights. In my case my HUSBAND AND MY DOGS.

that's it. that's my 40th birthday musings...

Love,
Honey

A scare of a LIFETIME.....

One month ago I was so terrified with my dogs life. WE though we will lose her.

It started out on that morning when we first woke up. Our dog Lilly sleep with us in our King sized bed every night. She is my only child you know. That morning, she looks normal but a little weak, so like always as spoiled as she is husband picked her up and put her on the floor. She always follow the husband whenever he is getting ready for work, but that day she just lay on the floor. When he checked on her he noticed she cannot even stand up. Her hind legs are not working and it looked like she broke her hips. Husband calmly approached me because he knows I will panic right away. He told me come and see Lilly. (that time I was in the kitchen just making coffee as we drink coffee together every morning). Then he showed me Lilly and told me it seemed like she broke her hips. He said I'll just go to the office and ask the boss I will take a day off so we can go to the Vet

One hour later he came back. I have everything ready so We rushed her to her Doctor. The Doctor visually examined her and without even touching her yet he told us that she probably be paralyzed for the rest of her life. There is this chronic disease on dogs that attacked her spine or muscles I don't know everything was a blur for me at that moment. I was so scared and I can't hide my tears in front of those strangers (Doctor and Nurses) Lilly is our baby. Then the Doctor X-ray Lilly and find out she has a slip disc. One of her disc is kinda pushing tot he side and that is the reason why her hind legs is not working. She didn't have a broken hip Thank God, But still her life is in danger. Doctor told us he think she needs to have emergency surgery. So we rushed her to the nearest Hospital for dogs. There they do MRI and blood test as they have more complete equipment. By that time Lilly looks normal but only she cannot walk. We waited a few hours. They put her on anesthesia as they were doing MRI and finally result came. They showed us a clear picture of her spine, inside the spine and explained us everything. Also they examined her blood to rule out cancer and result came she don't have cancer. Thanks God.

They put her under medication and she felt better after 4 days. Now she can walk slowly, run and chase vehicles again and annoys me like crazy. ha. ha! But seriously although she is still not out of danger yet, at-least I can see her slowly gaining her strength back and be a normal happy dog again.   I love her to pieces and It breaks my heart see her not able to walk that day.

Our Colorado Trip....

For those of you that knows me here in the blogs knew exactly how I'd like to see Colorado. Ever since 2007 the first state in the US that intrigue me the most is Co. I have seen it so many times in the movie, and I am mesmerized by it's beauty and also another reason is that something very personal.Let's not talk about it.

Finally October of 2020 the husband and I packed our bags and head north to Colorado to see the picturesque beauty of the Rockies. On the way there, I was totally shocked how different their landscape in comparison to the daily normal that I see in the south.  Some a little similar in some ways but the big picture is totally opposite. In the south we have so many trees and going north you can see nothing but an empty space filled with nothing, There's a little dry grass here and there. It was so dusty and windy that you can see tumble weeds all over the places,. Husband and I stop at one point to pick up a piece of tumble weed. ha. ha! We always see it in Matt Dillons show (Gun Smoke) so we were curious exactly what it felt to touch it with our own hands.

As we were driving, We saw a lot of windmills. That was the first time I saw such thing and I didn't realize how big they were. Husband park his truck close to one of the Windmill and we took a few photos. It was so cool to see it in person, and there were thousands of them along the hi-way. Then on our last day we plan to shot some prairie dogs in one of the town in Colorado. It is legal to shot prairie dogs in private land. Farmers allow you to let you do it in their ranch you just have to ask permission to the owner. Prairie dogs are nuisance to some of the ranchers because they make hole on the ground, and cows or horses may accidentally step on it and break their legs, that is the reason why some ranchers let you get in their property and shot as many as you can. But anyhow, that was so much fun.

That is one of husband's and I memorable trip together. We see and experience a lot of first together. Questions if I would like to go back to Colorado and explore some more? Probably not in the near future. I would love to see Wyoming next and Idaho and Oregon. . But for sure our Colorado trip was one for the books.

Summer in our neck of the woods is beautiful like in most places all over the world. There are plenty of things to do during this season. After hibernating on the cold winter season and hiding in the closet during stormy weather (spring season), Summer is the best time to-clean our yard cut weeds and just enjoying the outdoors. Early summer offers plenty of opportunity to beautify our surroundings. After cleaning our place we also plan of going on a yearly family trip out of state. Seeing new places is also something I look forward every reset of the year. But this year 2020 is so different from previous years. This pandemic has been a blessing and a curse in itself. A lot of unexpected things happen on 2020. And I'm pretty sure everyone can relate.

So this year instead of going out and about a lot of us stayed home for most part. As per country or state in my case, we have different rules to abide. The new normal now is to wear a mask wherever you go. Some people fuss about it, but hey If I can save 1(one) life by wearing a mask I will do it in a heartbeat. I'm not gonna fuss and fight about it.

Anyho, since we did not go on a trip last June, husband and I decided to stay local. He knew a guy that owns sunflower farm (private land) so he asked if we could go and take some photos. He told him YES and he said your wife can pick as many Sunflowers as she want. I am much obliged when he said that.

SUNFLOWER FARM...

I was expecting a bunch of sunflower facing  upward standing tall and proud, but I guess we came out a little late on the season that they almost wilted and died. We busted our A** laughing because of the reality of what I saw. I mean it's a little disappointing but hey, can we just laugh our mistakes? We put our trip aside for a week or two. Both of us didn't know that sunflowers wilt in the middle of July. We should have known because we have hot summer in Louisiana. But that something we learned and maybe we can catch them beautiful flowers next year. Still we take advantage of the few that was left and took photos of them.

Also husband took a bonus photos of me. I guess it's just me but when you think of other countries, also you envision a picture of yourself in a rail road. weird huh? But yes, I dreamed of the photos. LOL! I've seen that in so many different hallmark movies. hahaha. So yeah, that is the bonus part. We passed by and old road and I can't let the opportunity pass by in front of my eyes.

PEACH BUTTER

Hey guys, I have learned something new over the weekend. The husband bought me a bunch of peaches. Husband told me his family had been canning peaches ever since he can remember. And since my MIL passed away 4 years ago,  no one in the family canned peaches no more. We have a few cans in our cabinets, the ones she made before she got sick, but I don't wanna touch them. That's husband memory from her moma and I don't wanna use it. Because we have so many peaches from our local farmers, I then search in the Internet how to make peach butter or anything related to peaches. I made peach cobbler already, also I made dried peaches which I sent to my family in the Philippines for them to try. One recipe that stand out is peach butter.I looks so easy but it just require canning which is perfect because I know for sure the husband will love it.

I forget where I got the recipe. I wish to give credit to the owner.

1.Wash peaches and peel.
2.blender and add brown sugar according to taste.
3.Slow cook for 8 hours (low heat)
CANNING:
1.Sterilize lid and bottle (boil 15 minutes)
2.Pour peaches to bottle. and close tightly
3.Boil for another 15 minutes
4. Do not touch for 24 hours.
