Bonnie and Clyde Monument

Yesterday 12.17.2016 the husband and I checked out Bonnie and Clyde Trade deals hoping to find great haul for my garden. I really wanted an Angel in my garden or something beautiful to display outside. We were able to buy a beautiful Flamingo, but their Angel is sold out.
Also on the way home we stopped by Bonnie and Clyde's monument. This place is very significant because these is where Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed. Two of the most wanted Criminal in the United States. The husband and I are a sucker of History, Museums and Small town so whenever we get a chance to travel anywhere, we always look for museums and we love staying at a forgotten town.

3rd Year Anniversary Photo-Shoot!

The husband and I went to Mt. Carmel for our anniversary "photo-shoot" It is located very close to the house. This place is one of the historic place located in Mansfield La. The little church was build 1891.In  1880, this place used to have a catholic monastery where the monks live. Also they built covenant school for girls.
The husband and I wanted to-take pictures every year.  Well, actually that's my great idea and I don't take NO for an answer. LOL!  Thank you Lord for the GIFT OF TRUE LOVE...

Happy 3 years my love...

Today is our 3 years  anniversary. The day we both say "I DO"...

Truth and behold, I love being married. I no longer feel alone. They say you must marry your best friend, but in my case the man I married become my best-friend. I can confide him anything and everything. We go anywhere together, and sometimes when he just got off work and people see him walking alone at the grocery store they always ask him where I'm at. We stick like glue together and I love it.

My husband is a very caring and giving person. I love how big his heart is not just for me but for everyone around him. One time, there was this old woman that live in a camper without electricity. Her old house was on fire and all left were ashes and dust. nothing material left And Thankfully she was not inside the house when it happened. Then somebody called my husband to check and see what the older lady need to hook up her electricity. My husband came and helped her from start to finish. He make sure that the old lady has electricity before he came home. My husband didn't ask for a penny from the old lady. He came home very tired but fulfilled. And when he told me the story, I cried because I am very proud of him. Yes! I married a true gentleman in the truest form.

I didn't expect too-much when I married James. I trust the Lord in heaven and that I strongly believe he will be a wonderful husband. And Every-time I look back on our wedding video, it still draw tears in my eyes. I love him everyday 100 times fold 100 and more. There is no exact context in the dictionary on how much I appreciate him and thankful beyond words how he makes me a very happy individual.

I continue to PRAY to the Lord God above, that He will bless our life with Good health, safety, and peaceful daily life. Many more and more years of marriage for US!  I love him so much and in fact I am in tears while writing this post.

HAPPY 3 YEARS MY LOVE. THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A SIMPLE AND A VERY HAPPY LIFE. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

Racing Boat

So OK. We weren't able to go to the lake to test the boat that I purchased as discounted item for product testing. The husband got sick and I played Doctor the whole time last week. And because of that I decided to just try the boat in our bath tub.I believe It ain't as convenient as playing it in open water, but it's better than not trying it at all before giving it to our little guy this Christmas.
The package includes with an instruction of assembling the antenna and batteries. That part is just easy as 1..2..3 if you know how to follow instructions. It also includes the basic remote control functions. You know I'm not a teach y person and remote control is not my thing. In fact we have a drone that I purchased last year as Christmas present to my husband and it's just seating around the corner. I don't touch it since I don't have enough patience on playing on it.

Anyhow, back to the boat. It works OK in the bath Tub. I got what I want, which is just to test if it function and run in the water. I don't have any concern so far. The product to me is very descent and the price compared to the store is a lot cheaper. Truth is we bought the same exact item at the store last year for the little man. Our little boy in the family loves fishing and anything to-do with water. I have to say I can recommend this to anyone. I only have photo for now, but I will update this page with video once I tried it or maybe when the little guy plays it in the lake.

Thankful heart

I always read my blog-post whenever I feel sad and alone. The struggles that I've been through all those years has molded me to be a better and strong person that I am now. To live far away from your family and childhood friends is somewhat hard at times. Sometimes, I feel like speaking my language or just riding a jeep to go to the market, but I can't do it here. Kinda frustrating :( .

I live here in the U.S for over 3 years now, and I still don't know how to drive. My husband is teaching me patiently but I am the one who don't have enough effort to learn how to do it. Anyhow, back to reading my old post, It's amazing how I made it through during the lowest point of my life. I salute myself every time I remember how a pull it off.

I don't hate no one. In fact I already forgiven the person behind my struggles. God has blessed me so much in the form of my husband and I can't Thank him enough for that. I am beyond grateful with our almighty father everyday.

Every after reading my old post here, makes me realize my life now is what I always dreamed of and I don't have any room for sadness or feeling alone no more. My heart is full of great-fullness. Thank you Lord for my answered prayer.

So it's time to say ciao for now. ... I am beyond ecstatic I have this blog for many years.

Fall weather

Hello guys.. I am back again but not in full swing. I just feel a little sad in past days. and I don't know why. Perhaps it's fall again and the weather is kinda gloomy all the time.

Anyways, the husband is on-call for the weekend so yepppeeyy! will be staying home hopefully. LOL! We always go out and about every weekend, that sometimes I feel like it's better to stay home and do-some of the things that need to be done around the house{plus I am so selfish. I miss our me and him weekend too}. Another exciting news is that after 2 years of procrastinating, finally we will replace our front door and we will put a new storm door. yap! I am happy. small things. hehe!

So yep! that's the news in the Lindsey's simple home for the week. How about you guys? what you been up to?

Photography

I think taking pictures will never grow old in this household. The husband learn t how to tolerate me as years goes by. He always wonder why I never get tired taking pictures. And he told me not just once but many times before that if only he had met me long time ago, probably we have now so many branch of stores that develop pictures, and that he is now wealthy businessman. Kinda funny and aggravating. haha!

Since I feel a little bored today, I decided to go out so I can try the camera that I got for free for product testing. This camera can take a very descent photo. of-course! It don't produce a DSLR quality, but for beginners and teens this is a good one for them. They can use this to start taking pictures for practice, and see wither they like photography or not.
I am thinking of giving this camera to my nephew, but it seemed like he had a little attitude in the past couple of days. So will just see. Anyhow this is listed in amazon for $69.99. You might wanna check this out, since Christmas is fast approaching.

Cotton Fields...

August and September are two of my favorite time of the year because of the fact, that cottons are everywhere here. It's a beautiful scenery in this side of the world when cottons starts blooming like you have never seen before. I've been here IN Louisiana for 3 years  going 4 and it still makes my eyes wide open every-time we pass by cotton fields. They look like a snow on top of this little green leafy plants. Up to this date. I still love them.

The husband can't help but shake his head and put a grin on his face because I always ask him to stop so I can take pictures. We may have stopped not just once but 5 times already.LOL!

So to anyone that likes to travel and visit the state of Louisiana, you may like to set it when the cotton starts blooming and before they harvest it. maybe around end of August and First week of September. It's sure is something when you see in person. It's beautiful and my photo don't give justice to it.

WHEN did I become a model???..When you're bored you just wanna do anything to keep yourself busy.LOL!  If you asked me why I am not working? well, because I love being a housewife even that means staying at home until the husband come from work. I don't have a problem with it and I am not shy about it. My husband spoil me in so many ways/things which I am lucky enough.

So anyways, here's what keep me busy lately. I do-product review online. and because of that I am an instant model! would that be nice? :)

My answer to your question...

It's been a little while again. I know. The culprit? is the usual norm "laziness".

Being married is something I enjoyed very much in this side of the world. Our simple life makes it a lot easier for me through the daily struggles of being away from the family.I have my ups and downs but as always my positive outlook out-shadow the negative vibes all the time. I have been asked many times(almost everyday!) of when do I decide to have a child? My answer? I don't know.

To be honest, having a child is not something for me I believe. But if it's God will..is for me to have at-least one.. of course! I welcome that angel with open Arms. But I think having a child is not the only basis to have a healthy happy marriage life. James and I live normal, happy, and healthy marriage on a daily basis. We don't argue (except-when I get my monthly thing. I am miss GRUMPY!) but other than that circumstance, we live a peaceful life. We discuss our future goals and try our best to achieve it. My husband has two lovely daughters and we have a little grandson already. And that's more than enough for me. I am happy and content with what God has given me and I could not ask for anything better than this.

So for those of you that think my life sucks! my answer is Just focus your own life instead of mine. I have a perfect married life even without a child. A true happy and healthy marriage not for social media purposes but in the  REAL WORLD!.

Alexandria Louisiana Zoology Park

We visited Zoology park in Alexandria Louisiana today. We left the house a little after 10 in the morning and headed south towards Alexandria. The zoo is one and half hour drive away from the house. There was not very much crowd at the zoo. Also once we were there, a little storm passed by and we got a little wet. But it did not stop us from having a good time.

This guy is so funny. He followed us  while we were walking and did some tricks. lol.

Our Parasailing Adventure 05/21/2016

Another day of Fun and adventure in Boracay!!!!
When me and James went to Florida back in 2014, we really wanted to try their parasailing activity. But the thing is it is very expensive, that it will cost almost $200 for the two of us that includes the picture they took. So we stopped ourselves and decided to just do-it on our next trip in the Philippines. (that was the plan.)
Fast Forward 2016.....
While we were in the island, I coward myself and backed out with our plan. I feel so scared that made me sick just watching all those people flying up above. Then again, I realize that life is so short not to enjoy every moment spent with the love of my life. My husband is never scared of heights. He is the real Superman!
So off We Go....
We begin to Go a little Higher
We dip in the water before we Go back to Our boat. That was FUN!!!!
It was so peaceful and calm up above. Took a photo of our foot (ala lang)
Our ride lasted for 15 minutes and we went 280 feet above the ground. The feeling of being on top of the world like a bird flying up in the sky is such a wonderful experience. I will definitely do-it again in the future.

This is how it looks like every evening in Boracay while we were there. Water is a little lower than normal
Daily view in the island while strolling around. Sand is real pretty!
Sometimes it looks like this when the tide starts to Go up. :)

So to anyone that wanted to try parasailing. Go ahead do it. The feeling of fear is just at the beginning but when you see the world in a panoramic view, it is something definitely something else and an experience you will never forget!

First Bloom

I can't believe I'm learning how to make my picture pretty lately. I have been trying to practice basic photo editing and so far so good. I believe I'm in the right track now. I just wanted to keep my focus on something I really wanted to achieve perhaps it's not easy. Like I said flowers are my favorite subject because they are already beautiful and it only needs a little touch on the background.

On the other note, I'm so bored right now. I guess I just miss the husband since we just got home from vacation and all I want is to be in his side every minute. LOL! The husband will just laugh at me because I am so clingy. what love can do. right? I just realize it's almost our fourth (4th) year anniversary. Time sure flies like a blink of an eye. I am Thankful to the Lord in Heaven for our relationship still feels like the first time we met. I am very content with we have right now. I am hoping and praying that God will continue to give us good health, so that we can have more time together here on earth.

The husband and I visit our family in the Philippines last May11-June02 of 2016. It was a much needed vacation for us because of what happened in the past few months. We enjoyed every bits and pieces of our time spend with family and some of my friends. I would say it was indeed the best vacation we had to date.

Fishing..

Hey guys I'm back again! It has been a little while and I kinda miss it here. LOL! anyways The husband and I together with our little grandson went on a fishing trip this time. We promised the boy to go fishing so even the wind is blowing 35MPH it did not stop us from going.

It was a fun experience for the three of us, because the husband can maneuver the boat real good. He can make it as fast as you want it to-be or maybe as slow as it gets. The wind drove us crazy and we didn't get any fish at all. So we decided to call it a day. We let him fish at the pier for an hour or so before we decided to go home. The little boy was grateful and told us he had fun. It sure made a smile at papaw's and honey's face. :)

View from our boat. water looks real rough, but the view is beautiful.
Strike a pose before we hit the road.

Spring Cleaning

I'm tired. The husband and I have been working on our place the whole day. The weather is just perfect for spring cleaning and right now Our yard looks so beautiful. No more tall weeds in our surroundings. yay! Tomorrow my plan includes cleaning and rearranging everything in the house. The husband guitar is just seating right at the corner. I believe he needs a new instrument and this martin d-35 is a perfect candidate. He needs a guitar that produces a strong brass tone. I heard that martin d-35 is such a good buy according to the company's review. Maybe he will consider of getting this. will see.

Toledo Bend-Texas side

Hubby and I went on an unexpected road trip last Sunday. It was not our intention to hit the road  but because we were bored and hungry we ended up going to a restaurant at the boarder of Louisiana and Texas. True! We love food and we go out of our way just to find something different.

We cross Toledo bend bridge And oh boy! that bridge was long and beautiful. Not to mention the water is a little higher than normal (I was eve-dropping while the husband and friend were talking).

Here's some of the Photos from that short trip.

Of course! The husband and I...
And me . Me!

Louisiana Flood2016

We had severe weather the other day( March8&9) that terrified everyone that is living in North Louisiana.  The rain was pouring so hard that it's hard to even see the trees by the window. Lightning and Thunder was so crazy that made me decide to stay in the bathroom for an hour. It was horrible and it reminded me of typhoon Ondoy when I was in manila.

A few hours passed and the rain stopped. Then again came back with the same severity like what happened few hours ago. The husband is at work, so it was just me and my dog at home. Luckily it stopped again, but this time I see the water in our backyard rising so fast. I was not worried at first because normally with that type of rain the water will go up anyway since we live close to clear lake in Mansfield. But just 2 hours has passed and the water accumulate very quickly. In my almost 3 years here, I have never seen that water rise that fast. So that's when I called the husband. I took some photos and showed it to him. He has been very busy restoring power as they have a lot of outage that time. Poor man.

Took this photo At 10:30 in the morning

11:00 A.M my poor dog is swimming.
At 11 in the morning, I braved outside because I need to get my dog out , water is getting higher. I was terrified with snakes and alligator but hey, my dog is in need of great help so I set my fear aside this time.

Three(3) hours later the husband came home since he is just working close by. He called the boss and get off a little early because we have a lot of important tools in our shed. We need to save our stuff also. It was very heavy but we were able to lift the generator easy. LOL! I drove the Four wheeler and moved our land mower as it did not crank since the battery is down.  We were working in the rain for another 2 to 3 hours. I was shaking cold and so does the husband but we manage to keep our important tools safe. That was crazy!

almost dark.
Then night came and the water is still getting higher but no rain this time. Under the shed is now covered with water. There was nothing we can do but to prepare the worst thing. Furniture inside our house is not moved yet. The husband has a feeling that water will not rise as fast like the first few hours. I was worried sick, specially watching the news about the flooding in some other parishes. Our house is on a higher elevation compared to the neighbors. The water had been inside the house next to us. And Glad so many friends came to helped her move her stuff.

9 p.m when we decided to go to bed. We set the alarm every 2 hours to check outside. I did not sleep the whole time. I decided to go back to the living room and watch TV instead. The not knowing worries me more that anything.  Then around 2 A.M the water stopped rising. I waited another 2 hours before I went to bed to make sure we are safe. The husband woke up early. He told me the water is dropping slowly. I was happy to hear the news. I stayed in bed for another hour. I was exhausted from no sleep.

I am so Thankful to our Almighty Father that He answered our prayer.  The husband and I are safe. But at the same time, I am sad for all the other people around here. specially those that were affected bu this calamity so badly. I pray for them every-night before I go to bed.

Another Try...

So yeah, I know for sure you are familiar with the saying "Constant Practice makes perfect". and apparently that's what I'm doing. I like pictures a lot and it's kind of my little obsession at times.

The husband often laugh at me when I asked to take his picture, and sometimes it hurts my feelings when he will tell me no :( . Perhaps I  may just be a trying hard photographer.  *wink*!!!

SO here ya go.. my daily dose of photo editing. I'm just elated that I slowly learn how to further improve the quality of my photos.

Photography101....

The weather outside have been really good.  Flowers blooming like it's spring time, Sun is shining like how it's suppose to-be, no chaotic weather and I have no reasons to complain. LOL!I've been trying to learn photography since last year and until now I'm still on that same process. hahah!

Here's my subject for this week. I think flowers are very safe to photograph.
Colored
using my photo editor, I change the color of my subject.

That's all for today. I really hope to learn photo editing one day.

The Bird in our Yard...

I get up early everyday when the husband is working. I make sure he has everything he needs before he gets out of bed. I also take care of Lilly (my spoiled doberman) in the morning. She needs to go outside to-do her thing. While standing I see this beautiful Red Bird on the Bird Feeder. Out of curiosity I walked towards the birdy's direction. Surprisingly, the little bird just look at me and didn't even bother to fly.

So I run inside the house and grab my camera. This was my first shot of her.
she just stand still.
Took another shot closer and she just stay there.I'm happy I got a close-up
shot of this little beauty.

ain't she pretty?

Then I begin to wonder, if there's something wrong with her. It's so unusual for this sweet bird to stay where she at for a while. But a couple of seconds later, she fly away. I was relieved knowing that she is OK.

Lilly

Hello to my little spoiled girl who constantly ask for a treats every-time you ask
her to do some tricks.
She is very smart in her own little ways.
Every morning, she will grab daddy's boots and give it to him as soon as he is
getting ready to go to work.
She will pick up trash and give it to her mommy. She can jump, kiss, crawl, sit and lay and do everything in the world for you.
She's very protective and she loves me so dearly!

Pretty dulcimer strings

I joined online surveys since I got here in the United Stated. Not only that it keeps me occupied during the day it also gives me a little something on my pocket. My husband has been very generous to me and I cannot complain at all. It just that sometimes I wanted to buy a little something for-the man of the house and I don't wanna use his money for that. Like this Pretty dulcimer strings for instance. I so wanted to get the husband one of those. I feel ecstatic every time I buy him something from my hard work. I know he will appreciate it. The husband is so easy to please and I feel lucky about that. :)

Daily...

Valentines is just a few days away. can you believe how time gone by so fast? I guess the older you get, the faster time will fly. Husband and I has no exact plan on valentines. That's his on-call week so prolly will just stay home and work on our yard. The progress we made in our place in the neck of the woods is amazing. You can tell we put on a lot of sweat in it and  It's so fulfilling to look how beautiful and clean our surroundings is now.

Kitchen Clean up!

The husband is off for 10 days due to personal reasons. It is very rare because hubby is always busy at work. So since he complain a lot about me throwing some stuff in the house, I asked him to help me clean up the drawers in the kitchen that way I don't have to throw away anything that is important to him. While teaming up with the chores, we discuss about changing the kitchen drawers and might check in the internet about drawer slide info. I have seen a lot of DIY's online and it sure make life easier for us. Hopefully the plan about remodeling our kitchen, bathroom and fire place will not take a backseat.  The husband and I are great procrastinator so will just see if this happen in the coming months.
