Gift

Loving the husbands anniversary gift for me. A Diamonds in Rhythm Necklace. I remember telling him that I wanna collect jewelries. And was surprised when he take me to the jewelry store a day before our anniversary. Thankful for the husband's generosity. :)But more than anything, I am very Thankful for the Love we shared together day by day. I feel blessed since the day I married my man. Praying for many more years to celebrate with my man. I love him so much!

Christmas Shopping

Christmas is only 38 days away and the struggle of Christmas shopping clearly begins. My family in this side of the world normally exchange gift (woman-woman, man-man). This year is gonna be hard because James mom passed away 2 months ago. She loose her battle of pancreas cancer on James birthday. :( . I knew it was so hard for my husband, and his birthday for sure will never be the same again.

But anyhow, I would probably buy another musical instrument for the little man(james grandson) this year. He showed me his list the other day and one of which that he ask from Santa is a 9v adapter for his guitar. I don't know what happened to his old one. He also asked a robot, that do some chores, he said mom always ask him to-do something, so If he has a robot that could help finish his chores fast that would be great. LOL! This kid is something else. haahha!

Louisiana State Fair2015

The husband took me to Louisiana's State fair 2 weeks ago. The crowd was overwhelming. I never though Louisiana has that number of people. LOL! It was the first time I saw wave of people in this side of the world. We stayed there until 8 in the evening. We Ate funnel cake, corn dog, chicken in a stick, cheesy fries and drink coke. lol

I had so much fun and my feet almost retire. It hurts so bad from walking in one corner to the other. But the most important thing is hubby and I get to enjoy each others company and experienced to be a kid again.

Bundle up!

It's the time of the year again where you have to bundle up whenever you go outside.   I have been walking with the neighbor for a good one and a half months now. It was yes! a great routine at first. But since the weather in this side of the world already change, my mindset changed drastically too.  I am glad I got a new winter clothes. My husband and I are more in Cozy Winters, that's why our heater runs 24/7 during this season. Though I get too lazy waking up early for a walk, I still push myself and just bundle up. gezzz! I hope this is not a long winter season like last year. Fingers crossed!

Cedar Falls Arkans.

We had the opportunity to visit the Cedar waterfalls in Arkansas.  We wanted to walk 2 miles down to be closer to the falls but I freaked out because of the chicken snake curled up on a tree.

The falls was so beautiful watching from afar. how much more if only we're a little closer. There were a lot of people swimming in the water. It sure looks so much fun to be there.

I wanted to go back again when the trees starts to change it's color. I love Autumn because I feel like I get to step to places that I only see in the movies. And Arkansas is the best and closest place we could visit for now.

Shopping time...

I am planning of doing some shopping this weekend. But before I usually get the things that I want, I take some time of browsing around the web to find some good deals. If I want to shop clothes and accessories, I look at pictures first of models, though I don't have a model type kind of body. LOL! I also happened to come across guitars, and boy they sure looks so pretty! GC is the best place to visit if you decide to get yours. It looks classy yet very affordable money-wise. I do-hope to get one someday but I prefer the smaller kind as my fingers are real tiny.

Six Flags Over Texas Adventure....

We celebrate my Birthday and 2015's Father's day in Texas. Hubby and I, together with our little grandson drove 4 hours From Shreveport Louisiana to Arlington Texas. It is one of the most visited City. It is located east of forth-worth and probably 20 miles west of Dallas.

Hubby enjoyed the place as much as his little grandson and me did. He said it brings back memories of his childhood. We hop-in so many water slides, and ended up soaking wet every-time. The power of Mr. Sun didn't torture us though. Clouds cover the sky and the  breeze every once in a while helps alleviate the little humid temperature of that day. Plus, there's a lot of electric fan all over the place and that makes it more-comfortable in strolling around the park.

We did not ride the gigantic rides, the scary and extreme ones. We prefer the more child rides because of the little man. He is so scared to experience extremes, and whines a little about it. LOL! But the good news is.. Me and Hubby will do it again next time, and by then we hope to experience those extreme roller coaster rides. Texas giants, Superman and so many others. I hope I will not get heart attack when it happens. hahha!

Here's some of the photos I took. No pictures for me. I'd rather wanna be at the back of my lens this time.  Probably I grow old from taking pictures of myself already. :D

HAPPY GRANDFATHER'S DAY TO THE MOST RESPONSIBLE AND THE SWEETIES PERSON I'VE EVER MEET. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH  HUSBAND. AND I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL OF THE LOVE YOU SHARED NOT JUST ON ME BUT TO THE WHOLE FAMILY. YOUR AWESOME!!!

My top 5 why I love the country-side ...

I have lived and worked in one of the busiest City in the Philippines. I've visited one of the most Crowded tourist destination on Earth when we went to Disneyland and Universal Studio in Florida. It's all worth the visit and experience., But the feeling of exploring the country side of every place is incomparable.

Here's my top 5 list of why I love the Hillbilly's.

1. Peace and Serenity all to yourself. When you feel like everything is crumbling down, just step outside your home so you can hear the birds sweet melodies as they sang their hearts out in the wilderness. It is in this moment when you can truly appreciate the beauty that God has made. Spell positive life!

2. Traffic and Pollution is out of the Equation. I hate traffic. who wouldn't? I once lived and worked in the big city. And traffic is always a nightmare. But now that I am living in the country, I noticed that roads are all empty and it feels safe to travel around.

3. Simplicity is handy. I love simple living. My childhood was pure and simple, that's where the greatest joy of my memories came from. In the country, simple living is very easy.

Simply Lazy

4. Picturesque Environment.  I am a big fan of photography. In fact one of my dream is to visit every national part all over the country. Rustic and Majestic view truly impress my heart, and capturing it, with my own lens would be a dream come true. Since I am living in the country, I feel like I am living my dream too. Everything here is picturesque. I never get tired of taking pictures all over our place.
Blanchard Cave in Arkansas

5.Environment & Wild Life Encounter. Like I said in the past. photosynthesis happened at it's finest. I get to enjoy and watch the changes of my environment beautifully as the season change.

my little friend, is taking a little nap :)

So there ya go. My reasons why I love living in the rural area.. I can't ask for any better place.

Grill boiled chicken in a George foreman grill. spray EVOO on chicken.
while grilling chicken. Prepare your veges.
Cut tomatoes in cube. and wash your lettuce in a running water. :P
Once chicken is cooked. Assemble it with your wheat flour tortilla.
Serve it with a kiss to your love ones. hehe!

Voila! there's your chicken wrap from me. Enjoy!

Playing Trumpet

Summer is just around the corner but this nasty rainy weather still lingers in this side of the world. For those of us that wants to-be productive and try to learn something new, I have a good news to share with you all. A newly designed Trumpet has been introduced in this high end world. Their musical instrument especially their muter is now modernize, and is very easy to use. Aside from that, they created more designs to fulfill musicians demand. I believe this is also a very kids friendly instrument. How wonderful it would be if the little man in our house would learn how to play Trumpets. That must be awesome!

It's been a while since I did my favorite hobby, online shopping. Then I just find out that yamaha  just created a new ultimate performance keyboard the yamaha tyros 5. When I read the instruments  over view and see the features my jaw dropped. This instrument never cease to amaze me. Yamaha always produce such great product with an excellent monetary value. Good job!

The Five.. Never stop learning...

James and I are huge "The Five" fan. It is a show in Fox news where they get to debate current issues be in politics, sports anything. At first I dislike the show a lot simply because I don't understand what they are talking about. I thought the show is only for smart people. The husband is hooked to it before I got here so I don't have a choice but to watch with him.

But as time progressed, I start liking it as much as the husband did. Though I'm still in the process of getting to understand the topic but at least I get to share my thoughts and some views about certain issues. The show helps me broaden my knowledge not just about life but of what's happening around the United States or even globally. I am not that kind of person in the past. I am so luck of confidence in myself and my understanding about certain things are so limited. I focus solely about my own life and experiences and pay less of an attention to what's going on outside the box.

Now I am a little prouder of what I learn on a daily basis. I get to expand my education by watching movies, news and talk shows or by simply talking to the husband on our normal conversation. Lately, I am hungry in learning new things. I'm a late bloomer I know. But the fact that I don't wanna stop learning is a good thing.

Perhaps, I am a work in progress as of the moment, but in reality I know I will get there. I am not in a hurry. I enjoy my baby steps in a world that is new to me.My husband on the other hand is my strength. He is very proud of whatever I do. He just love me so much, and that's where my courage and determination came from.

But anyway back to "The Five". The husband surprised me with Dana Perino's book. He knows first hand of how I admire Dana in the show. She is very smart. She handle every debate with grace and open mindedness. She's a good example of Intelligence and that being humane is handy. I simply adore her.

So here it is... a picture of my first real book ever.. I am looking forward to so many more educational books like this. Good-luck to my journey. Hope I can-do it. I knew I can!

Just daily....

Finally it happened. The husband drove me to my Dermatologist appointment today. Hubby has been telling me few weeks back to set up a Dr.'s appointment as he is worried about my pimples. They get worst as time passed by he said. But the stubborn wife in me just sit back, waited until finally I got scared of looking myself in the mirror. Then I panicked and picked up my phone to set an emergency appointment. haha! There's no such thing really. I am just lucky as they have available spot on that day.

And on the lighter note. I bake cookies today and just like that I burnt it.. LOL!!!!

All about my Lilly...

My friends frequently ask me of when will be the right time for me to get pregnant? My answer never changed since the beginning of time. I can't get angry at them for asking questions like that. They might just be wondering or perhaps a little nosy. who knows? LOL! But as you may already knew, Lilly is like a real daughter to me. She's very precious and I spoil her a lot. In-fact I bought her some treats and toys online just the other day. This store is selling EntirelyPets stuff. My Lilly enjoyed her toys a lot and that helps her occupied whenever me and hubby is not home. I love spoiling my dog, though she don't deserve it sometimes. She has a lot of adrenalin in her system, that is too much to handle. Oh well. She gives us joy on a daily basis that money cannot buy.

Breakfast Food...

I love weekends simply because it is the day of the week where I get to spend quality time with my husband. We mostly start our day by eating breakfast together. Though I am starving to death because hubby usually wake-up late on this day, I still don't mind waiting for him.

Growing up, my family usually ate breakfast and dinner together. And My husband's family are close tight kind of family too, they also practice the same manner in the table like ours does. But the difference is, they don't talk very much while eating. They concentrate on their food and chat later. Filipinos on the other hand love to talk and laugh while eating. It's more fun that way I believe.

Another differences of me and the husband. He don't eat rice for breakfast. He likes grits, toast, bacon, sausage, biscuit, or oatmeal. While me I prefer fried rice, egg, bacon, anything heavy will do .Adobo.Chicken.Pork Beef. Buwad :) sardines. bsta anything name it! hahaa!

hubby's breakfast food (grits, toast, egg, bacon)

Honey's breaky ( bacon, rice, egg) pang kargador n riec

Even thought we have so many differences be it with our culture, traditions, mannerism, age or anything you can imagine, at the end of the day we have the same value of love and respect with one another and that is far more important than anything.

Stay Blessed Y'all!

Why I Travel...

I am very passionate into seeing the world through my eyes and experiencing different cultures as well as tasting different kind of foods. I love traveling and thinking about it makes me wants to squeal like a butchered pig.

When I was in the Philippines I used to wander around even just for a day or two. I like walking on the beach or doing some little activities around the city. Back then, I don't have a descent camera to capture those little things that some of us failed to appreciate. I love history and listening stories of an old master piece always makes my day.

I appreciate more boldly of the stories so to speak. compared to the physical attributes of a certain person or thing in general. When traveling I also love talking to the locals. My mom, used to remind me of being careful specially when I am not in my comfort zone. So far, the people I met along the way are mostly the good ones. I am thankful that bad guys are obscure when they see me. They try to camouflage themselves I guess. LOL!

Why do I write this post? Solely because I missed wander-lusting. I am so itching to travel around with my husband. Oh well, few more weeks and we will go start packing our stuff again for our 3 days trip to Texas. I can't hardly wait..tehheee!

The Voice

Lately hubby and I were so hooked in watching The voice. We've been following this series for the past 3 seasons. This is one of the activity at home that we are doing so pleasantly. Last season finale, our bet won the tittle and we are so happy about it. Since I watch the show regularly, this just makes me wonder if they are using voice over booth because the contestants voices are insanely perfect. Not to boast, we are using surround system in the house and it adds perfection to those beautiful voices as they were singing their hearts out.

Easter Celebration 2015

The husband and his family traditionally celebrates Easter Family get together. But since the weather channel predicted a bad weather Sunday (Easter) we just decided to-do it a day ahead. Saturday was a perfect weather for the kids egg hunting and picture taking. It is my second year here so, obviously I had it experienced before. However, I still had fun looking for the eggs hidden everywhere. ( It feels good to-be a kid again even just for a day)

  Some of the photos ....

Mother Deary is happy taking pictures with everyone.
The Little guy in the Family
She's beautiful inside Out. I love this girl

One of the many designs

Counting his treasure..lol!

It was indeed a wonderful day spent with the family.
But the most important thing of all is to Thank God for the sacrifice he made just to save you and me!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Food Corner

Hubby and I loves to eat a lot. Every time we travel, we make sure to try some of the foods that are popular in that certain place. Of-course! I am more adventurous than the husband in terms of food. His stomach is not too- strong enough to eat some of the weird looking kind. LOL!

So because we love to eat, I also try to take time and notice on the foods that is served in our table. I make sure to remember the taste that way I can clone some of it and make my own version.

Anyhow, here's one of those kind that we once ate on one of our trip.

My version of Buttered shrimp with Baked potato with jalapeno and cheese.

Shrimp cooked in Butter
Hubby's Plate

Hubby enjoyed it as much as I did. I am Thankful for my husband for he appreciates my cooking and adopted my culture with respect like his own.

Sunday Fun day...

Sunday. Hubby and I went to O'pines lake in Texas to enjoy a little outdoor activities. As planned we went a little fishing and some skiing with his colleague. Hubby drove the ski boat while his friend is dragged in the water. That was a total fun and exciting moment for me. As if I am the one who is skiing in the lake. lol!

The lake has it's pristine beauty and knowing that it was ours for that certain moment is such a wonderful experience. The water is still cool at 60 degrees F and for that reason, crowd don't exist yet. Hubby and I planned to do a little more fishing probably in the first of May. By then, we gotta make sure to stay there 2-3 days at least. We did it last year and I look forward to-do it again this year (just me and him).

Our plan this time is not just fishing. We also plan to explore that little town and maybe visit my friend who lived nearby. I hope the weather will be beautiful again when it's time for us to-go. Fingers crossed. this gonna be another memorable trip for me and the husband.

Sunny Day!

Beautiful weather. Indeed! Yep! After almost 3 weeks of rain and nasty weather, finally the Sun, shine again in this side of the world. It's been a week of pretty weather including the weekend. That means hooray! to some outdoor activities.

Yep! hubby and I plan to go fishing this Sunday in their company's private lake. It has been almost a year since we went fishing in that beautiful location. The last time we visited the place was when we went camping with my friend from Arkansas. It was indeed a fun experience. This coming Sunday we will be with my hubby's office-mate and his girlfriend. I met them twice already so I think I will no longer shy during our conversation. I know! I'm a shy freak! and it's a bummer.

Today my plan was to go out and clean a little in our yard. pulling weeds ( not-really), but this morning I saw an alligator drag mark in the lake, so that means staying in-door for honey while hubby is at work. In my opinion our place is somewhat scary because of alligator, but with no bias I think our property is very beautiful. Those that don't understand about plants and animals life very much are mostly the one's who is so scared to live in this area. But to me. I love our place. The alligators never bother me nor my husband since when he live here, that is why I am not scared at all.

Of course! being not scared and being cautious are two different word. Thought I'm not scared, I'm still cautious. Safety first! agree?

But anyways, I'm just excited for our weekend. Saturday we will do some cleaning in the yard then dinner with the inlaws. Then Sunday morning we will go fishing with hubby's friend.

Soooo.. Hep! Hep! Hooray to this beautiful week!

Prayer warriors please help us pray.

March 12, 2014 @ 2 in the afternoon. It was that certain moment when we got a crashing news.A lady that is very close to our heart is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I remember completely how I can't stop my tears from rolling down. It hurts me so much and thinking about it, still makes me sick on my stomach. She is my husband mother and I consider her my Mother in this side of the world.

I honestly love her, as She treated me like one of her own and love me like a little girl. I hope and pray that God will give our family enough strength to fight for our battle. My husband's family is very close with each other. Every weekend we always finds time to visit the in-laws. James look up his parent so much. He loves them so dearly not just in words but through his actions. Thinking about it makes me feel like crying again, as I knew how painful the news is to him specially to his daddy.

March 13, 2015 Friday we went with them on her first check up with her pathologist. I remember so clearly when the Doctor asked his daddy of how many years they have been married. 52 years he replied. Then he said again, Please Doc. help us to live another 52 years more. The Doctor smile and said: I promise to be in the driver seat and we will fight her battle hard. Daddy Thank him a lot. That certain Doctor is like a family friend to them. He is Daddy's doctor when he was diagnosed prostate cancer and now he is cancer free for 17 years. God is Good.

Today she will get more test and probably within this week she will start her chemotherapy.  According to the Doctor it is a painful disease so He gave her a medicine that helps alleviate the pain. Please my dear prayer warrior, help us pray for healing and strength to our Super woman. I lost my super woman 8 years ago. It changes my life and my families life up to this moment. Life is never the same at all. That is why I pray so hard for my mother-in-laws battle. I knew how it feels to loose one so I am also praying for the whole family. That God will continue to shine his light on all of us. That he will take away her pain and sustain her life longer on earth to be with her family and love ones.

This time is a one's hard journey for the Lindsey's so please keep us on your prayer. Thank you all. and God bless everyone of you!

Making Tea cake - Biskwet in Cebu

The husband has been telling me stories of how great his grandmother was. According to him, grandma loves to cook. She cooks for everybody; and she can cook fast too. One day, my husband told me how he missed his grandma's tea cake. Honestly I don't know what a tea cake is. LOL! But anyway, because he is craving for a tea cake we decided to look for recipes in the Internet.

...and Voila! We found one. The recipe is not complicated at all. So one Saturday evening after dinner, we decided to play around the kitchen. He was my chef and I was his assistant. According to the recipe chill the dough overnight, so that's what we did. Then the next day( Sunday morning) we finished our tea cake.

Hubby and I enjoyed the tea cake like a kid. When at first I don't have any idea what a tea cake was, now I knew. We have this kind of cookie when I was a kid; and we called it biskwet (cebuano version of biscuit).

So today while hubby is at work, I made him some tea cake to snack on. I hope he will enjoy eating it and hopefully this will give him a flashback again of how wonderful grandma was.

Daily

Louisiana weather is so unpredictable. One minute the rain is pouring and then all of a sudden it will change into a sunshiny day.

Today, we have a very pretty weather. The temperature went up to mid 60's and it's a little breezy too. I really wanted to work outside but the husband is working today. It's his on-call week, so I just ended up working inside the house. After all, I have a lot of dusting to-do before our new TV will be deliver Tuesday. Yes! We decided to buy a new one. Our Old 55'' TV retired yesterday so I guess it's time to upgrade into 70''  3D TV. I can't hide my excitement by the way.

High School Ring

Social media played a big role in my life. I admit, without Internet my life will be lonely because I live far from my family and friends. This platform helps us ease boredom and loneliness while we live a thousand miles away from them. Internet is also loaded with informations, that makes life easier. Just like yesterday while I was talking to my high school classmate. I didn't know that we can customize our class rings high school. My ring was so small and there's no way it will fit in my finger, as I was so skinny when I was in high school. But anyways, yeah you can find variety of informations in the Internet. If we just do a lot of reading, we will come out a person that is full of knowledge. Oh warning! just don't believe everything though. Make sure to-do a lot of research first before believing what you read.

Snow in February

Hubby and I enjoyed ourself outside while the snow is pouring hard. It is very rare that we get snow in this side of the world. But nevertheless I am very grateful of what we had.

It was pretty cold that time, but being the tropical girl in me I still manage to wear shorts. hehe! We had a blast! as obviously seen in the photos. Time spent with my husband is the most rewarding blessings of my lifetime. I love him more as time passes by... :)

Snow in Louisiana

Yesterday, we got a chance to taste a little bit of ice in the ground. The temperature was below freezing and it was completely cold for me. lol! But since snow or ice is not very common in Louisiana, I decided to take lilly for a walk even for a minute.

My dog sure enjoyed the coldness on her feet as she was walking slowly on the ice. She stop and look, then lick the ice in the porch. It looks to me that she is totally amused of what is happening in the world. he. he!

Tomorrow according to the weather channel we will get an inch of snow again. I hope it won't last long. No matter how I love the color in our surroundings, at the end of the day I am worried of the husband and his co-workers because it is this time when they have to work 16 hours to restore electricity in the community.

Valentines 2014

A day full of love and dedication be at your work .home or in social media. I myself actually don't fuss too much about this day kasi me and hubby showed affection to each other everyday.

We celebrate love daily in our simple abode. Love is the reason why I get married to my husband. Love is not shown just 1 day out of 365 days. It should be given every day and felt every moment either your together or in a distance.

I realize being married is not a walk in the park. It needs patience.understanding.commitment and special love. Without Love, you will never be patient with your partner. Love is a powerful feeling. It may can hurt you but just realize also that hurt is just part of human nature.

To me LOVE is the most beautiful feeling I've ever felt in my whole existence. If not with love, I would perhaps be lost in the universe of unknown. I'm joyfully ecstatic to say that Love found me in the perfect timing of all perfection, and I found Love in the most unexpected way possible.

Here's what hubby gave me on valentines. Super Thankful for the gift of True Love!

Christmas 2014

I have so many stories to tell but my Internet connection won't allow me to do-so. I do't understand why Internet here is just ridiculously expensive. Our connection is very much limited that is why I can't update my blog regularly.

But anyhow, we celebrated Christmas in the most simplest way. Me and James just went to the in-laws, had our exchange gift and a little get together. headed straight home after. It was not like in the Philippines were it's noisy.fun. party with neighbors and fireworks. We have Different concept here but with the same intentions and meaning "Family and Friends", "Love and Joy".

And... After all Christmas is not about us, it's about the birth of Jesus Christ our mighty savior!  And before I will end this post. Let me paste one of my favorite quote.
"It came without ribbons! It came without tags! It came without packages, boxes or bags!... Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more!" ~Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

BLESSED 40!

Wow! I am that old?... Time sure just went out of the window so quickly. But looking back in the past 20 years of my life (let's just st...
